Grand Opening of Romanian American Cultural Center

Thank you to all who joined us on October 13th 2019 in person or in thought to celebrate the opening of HORA Romanian American Cultural Center. A warm and sincere thank you to all our donors, volunteers and to the Landmark Center who made this possible. Our dream of having a home away from home became a reality. We hope this day’s feeling will be carried on through many events for years to come.

ACASA, Welcome Home!

An Emotional Evening of Discovery and Connection with Romanian Roots

Between 1990 and 2004, Americans adopted more than 8,000 children from Romania. Terrifying images of communist institutions filled with abandoned orphans opened the hearts of many Minnesotan families who fled to save these children. Minnesota became home- ACASA for these children, now young adults, starting their own families.

HORA is proud to welcome Izidor Ruckel to Minnesota. Once a child lost in the Romanian communist institutions, Izidor is today a nationally recognized orphan advocate who speaks on behalf of orphans lingering in institutions around the world. See www.izidorruckel.com for more information.

Euro-American Celebration

Nine exciting European culture-filled days held throughout the Twin Cities! HORA made appearances at the European organizations showcase, the young professionals networking brunch, the Cine Club, the European wine tasting event.
