Threads of Identity invited visitors into the vibrant world of Romanian textile heritage, celebrating the remarkable diversity that defined the country’s cultural landscape. This temporary display brought together traditional fabrics, garments, and decorative pieces from four major regions: Maramureș, Bucovina, Oltenia, and Transylvania, offering a rare opportunity to explore how geography, history, and community shaped artistic expression.

Visitors discovered how each area of Romania developed its own visual language through color, pattern, and technique. The exhibition highlighted both the shared roots and the striking distinctions that made Romanian textiles so rich and varied.
