Romanian Spring Traditions: Painting and Classical Music on March 27, 2022

HORA was happy to display the Romanian Spring Traditions exhibit between March 6th and April 16, 2022. This event was located in the North Gallery of the Landmark Center, first floor. Visitors got immersed in various art activities while learning about Romanian culture and traditions. All activities were free and open to the public.

Featured activities and artists for this event that took place from 1 to 4 pm were:

  • Raluca Boac performance: 1-1:30 pm, room 317. Participants could listen to beloved Romanian classical music and learn what it takes to learn how to play the piano.
  • Gina Johnson painting 2-4 pm, room 317. Participants learned how to paint a snowdrop, the traditional flower of spring in Romania. Materials were supplied, and participants could take their painting home. This event was open to everyone, seats were on a first come first served basis.

This event was made possible with help from MN Landmarks and voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
