Movie Screening, Chaska

Thank you to all our guests who joined us at the Chaska Community Center Theater for a screening of the documentary Through the Iron Curtain: From Romania. This documentary uses testimonies of those who lived and suffered under the oppressive Communist regime in post-World War II Romania. Along with unique experiences shared by immigrants themselves, the documentary includes commentaries from historians and recollections from renowned Minnesota journalist and news anchor Don Shelby. Following the film, there was an opportunity for discussion with HORA members Monica and Jim Von Geldern. Monica and Jim were a part of the movie production and were also featured in the documentary.

This event was a part of Chaska Celebrates Immigrant Voices, which was a month-long initiative created by Chaska Human Rights Commission. To check out more programming, head to bit.ly/chaskavoices.
