Brâncuși 150: Romanian Graphic Art Exhibit

February 19-22

On February 19 2026 we celebrated the 150th anniversary of Constantin Brâncuși – one of the most influential sculptors of the 20th century – with a remarkable international exhibition honoring his legacy and artistic spirit.

Brâncuși 150: Romanian Graphic Art Exhibit featured 29 limited‑edition engravings created by contemporary Romanian artists, each offering a fresh interpretation of Brâncuși’s groundbreaking vision of form, material, and meaning. From abstract purity to spiritual symbolism, these works highlighted the lasting power of his ideas across generations. The opening took place on February 19 at 4 pm.

This cultural‑artistic initiative began at the Constantin Brâncuși National Museum in Târgu Jiu, sparked by a creative dialogue with artist Răzvan‑Constantin Caratănase. Under the guidance of the Inter‑Art Foundation, that spark grew into a unique global project – a traveling series showcasing Romanian art to audiences around the world.

Presented simultaneously in 21 countries across six continents, the exhibition formed part of a worldwide tribute. HORA was proud to host the only U.S. presentation, organized in partnership with the Inter‑Art Aiud Foundation and the Brâncuși National Museum, curated by Raluca Octav, bringing international resonance to a local celebration. Full project description and more information about Brâncuși’s art are available here.

The exhibition offered a powerful experience of how Brâncuși’s legacy continues to shape the language of modern sculpture — and how today’s Romanian artists carry his spirit forward with boldness and grace.

Visitors were also encouraged to explore the Minneapolis Institute of Art, room 377, where Brâncuși’s Golden Bird is on permanent display. Admission was free and open to the public.
