Nadia Comăneci 50 Years of the Perfect 10 exhibit

July 12,19, 29 from 1-3 pm
Landmark Center,  room 319

This self-guided exhibit will commemorate the 50th anniversary of one of the most iconic moments in sports history: Nadia Comăneci’s groundbreaking Perfect 10 at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games. Her flawless routine not only redefined the possibilities of gymnastics but also transformed the global perception of athletic excellence.

Visitors will explore how a 14‑year‑old gymnast from Romania captivated the world, inspired generations of athletes, and set new standards for precision, artistry, and discipline. Through photographs and historical context, the exhibit will trace Comăneci’s journey from her early training in Romania to her rise as a global symbol of grace and determination.

The exhibit will also highlight her enduring influence on the sport—from the evolution of scoring systems to the way young gymnasts around the world train, dream, and push the boundaries of what is possible. Nadia’s legacy extends far beyond medals; she became a cultural icon whose impact continues to echo across sports, media, and international representation.

50 Years of the Perfect 10 will invite visitors to celebrate a milestone in gymnastics history and reflect on how one extraordinary performance changed the world of sports forever.

We will be closed on July 5th in observance of the holiday.
