Every Sunday in August, 1-3 pm
Romanian folklore is rich in mythical characters and symbolism. Characters in Romanian folktales can sometimes be good, sometimes evil or sometimes morally gray. These stories evoke the historical condition of Romanian people who have been at the crossroads of foreign powers, therefore sometimes are allies, but can easily switch sides and become enemies. In this way, Făt Frumos (Prince Charming) and Ileana Cosanzeana (the Princess) are substitutes for the Romanian people themselves.
Visitors joined us every Sunday in August to learn about the connections between Romanian Folk Stories and the Greece or Roman Mythologies or even Disney or Lord of the Ring characters.
